Since
the mid 90’s Eamonn Dowd has fronted The Racketeers as they've brought
their fiery brand of americana to audiences throughout Europe, releasing five
albums along the way. In recent years Eamonn has also toured in a solo /
acoustic capacity,
blazing a trail through Germany, Scandinavia, the Baltics, USA and Canada.
The 2006 album, Silver & Dust was released through German indie label
Cannery Row Records and was recorded by Paul Thomas, best known for his work
with
The Dubliners, Nikki Sudden, Thin Lizzy and early U2. The brand new album,
Mansions
Of Gold (also out on Cannery Row) has just been released. It's a raw rootsy
affair and reviews
have been very favourable. It's produced by Les Keye who also plays bass.
Longtime associate, Chris Teusner
is on
drums.
As Hot Press magazine said "There’s
something raw and real about The Racketeers
that’s easy to love."
